We help entertainment industry professionals age 65 and older, their families and caregivers to address the myriad issues they may face on a daily basis.
Whether it means helping you investigate housing alternatives or working with a family member to organize homecare, our experienced social workers develop a plan to meet your individual needs. Services include:
- Access to entitlements or other benefits
- Financial management and assistance
- Referral to elder law attorneys and general information and referral
We can also:
- Provide help to determine if you can manage on a retirement income
- Give advice on creating a last will and testament, durable power of attorney and appointing a healthcare proxy
- Help review housing and health insurance options
Local home and hospital visits are possible as necessary. Even if you or your loved one are not within easy commute of our offices, we will work with you to ensure a complete assessment is completed.
Since medical coverage is often of great concern, our Senior Care Program works closely with our Artists Health Insurance Resource Center to provide information about health insurance, Medigap policies and prescription programs.
Any performing arts or entertainment professional may call on our Senior Services for support, information or referrals to community agencies.
Eligibility for financial assistance requires an application, documentation of your professional earnings and an interview and in general is based on:
- A minimum of five years of industry paid employment with earnings of at least $6,500 for three out of the last five years, or
- Twenty years of industry paid employment with a minimum of ten years of earnings of at least $5,000 for each of those years, and
- Financial need
